Credit Monitoring
Credit monitoring is the act of keeping tabs on your credit. Your credit history shows pretty much everything that you've done with your credit. This credit profile documents the opening of new credit card accounts, bank accounts or borrowing money. It's what lenders see when they want to know whether or not to lend to you. When you monitor your credit, you're watching for any changes that are made to it. You see who's making the changes and what effect it has on your credit. If there's anything that occurs without your consent, you can immediately take action on it to have it updated and corrected. You can prevent yourself a lot of trouble by simply knowing that your credit is accurate and that no one is misusing it.
There are many companies that assist you in monitoring your credit. There are tools with which you can use to quickly resolve issues that might arise.
Credit Monitoring Services
Bank of America PrivacySourceBank of America provides a service called PrivacySource that assists its customers in monitoring their credit identity. When Bank of America customers enroll in this program, they can choose to sign up for either one of two programs: Privacy Assist Premeir or Privacy Assist. Both start off as 30-day free trials, with which afterwards members are charged a monthly fee for continuance of the monthly service.
Privacy Assist Premier is the leading credit monitoring service offered under Bank of America's PrivacySource. It is a comprehensive solution to Bank of America's customers who are interested in protecting themselves from identity theft and identity fraud. With Bank of America's Privacy Assist Premier, customers will have unlimited online access to all three of their credit bureau records and scores. These include data from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The information is consolidated into one document for easy analysis and credit comparison. In addition customers will have access to the credit monitoring of all three of their bureau credit profiles. Credit monitoring is a useful service that allows for users to know what's going on with their credit. If there's suspicious or unfamiliar activity going on, if there's people who are not suppose to be looking and making changes on your credit, you'll know about it. The monitoring service will alert customers of this and they in turn can take action immediately upon possible identity theft consequences. Should something indeed slip by them, there's also identity theft insurance coverage of up to $25,000 with no deductible. Thus identity theft victims can be reassured that practically no harm will come to them in the event of identity fraud. This service is available for a monthly $12.99 payment after the 30-day no cost trial.
Privacy Assist is a similar service under the Bank of America PrivacySource umbrella. Instead of three bureau credit profiles, customers get only one from Equifax. Same thing for credit scores. One credit score from Equifax. Identity theft insurance is reduced from $25,000 to $5,000. Monthly charges are $8.99 after the month trial.
Experian CIC Triple Advantage
Experian is one of the three credit bureaus in the U.S. The credit bureau offers credit related information and services such as credit scores and credit monitoring. They also operate on websites on the Internet as FreeCreditScore.com, ConsumerInfo.com and CreditCheckTotal.com. They are all the same company: Experian.
When individuals signup with Experian, FreeCreditScore.com or CreditCheck Total, they're automatically enrolled in a free trial for the company's credit monitoring service. Sometimes it's called Triple Advantage. It's also sometimes referred to as CIC Triple Advantage. They're the same credit monitoring product. Yes, it's confusing, but now it's clarified.
With CIC Triple Advantage individuals can monitor all three of their credit files from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. They'll be able to see any change that has occurred and who's been looking at their credit profiles. To make things easier, people can set up to receive email alerts so that they're immediately notified of any potential signs of identity theft from any of the three credit bureaus. There's also a $50,000 identity theft insurance coverage that is included. Individuals can try the credit monitoring service for free, in addition to receive free credit reports from the three credit reporting agencies when they signup.
Triple Bureau Credit Monitoring
Triple Bureau Credit Monitoring is offered by Privacy Matters 1-2-3. It's another credit monitoring service, much similar to the ones one would find with other credit report companies. Triple Bureau Credit Monitoring is used by Credit Diagnosis as well. Look closely and you'll see that Privacy Matters 1-2-3 and Credit Diagnosis are actually the same company. Thus their products and offerings are going to be similar.
Privacy Matters 1-2-3 is not a credit bureau like Experian, Equifax or TransUnion. However, they do offer credit related products and services. Triple Bureau Credit Monitoring is similar to Experian's Triple Advantage in that it allows users to track any changes or inquiries that are made to their credit and it also allows them to be alerted by email whenever such changes occur. With this service users are able to better protect themselves from identity theft and identity fraud.
